Got my camping and fishing stuff loaded. Checked my mental listIMG_20220315_114939841~2.jpg, and ran out of room in the back of my pickup . The weather looks a little mixedScreenshot_20220315-110034~2.jpg I rolled my socks, under roos and extra Tshirt in with my pants. IMG_20220315_133222935~2.jpg Oh talk about socks,. I got my wife a couple pairs of very nice Merano wool socks for Christmas. Big ole thick ones that she could slouch around the house in. She loves em. Now I have to protect, actually hide, my nice wool socks so she don't find them. Yeh think I'm kidding? I've had a few of my older ones disappear, and they just magically appeared on her feet.

I've got a new Polaroid camera to check out. I never take pictures, ha. I'll try to remember to take a few and see how it does. Supposed to be a full moon.

Quit raining and tent setup IMG_20220316_150239338_HDR~2.jpgIMG_20220316_140031145~2.jpg We have a Hawks nest behind the tent about 100 hundred yards. Already saw a loon swimming by, to far for a picture.

More rain this evening. Of course my brothers tent leaks. Rain is ok but leaking tent is awful. Nice sunsetIMG_20220316_194209566~2.jpgIMG_20220316_193728785~2.jpg we were coming back to camp from fishing, rain was not for casted for this evening, my brother said, "hey look at that little dark cloud". Humph it ain't going to rain. Yep it rained and still raining.

Nice hot fire. Red cedar burns very hotIMG_20220316_200910702~2.jpg My camp saw I left hanging on the tree.

Foggy this morning.IMG_20220317_083241013~2.jpgIMG_20220317_091537969_HDR~2.jpg I didn't get up early enough this morning for a moon set picture, but it set on the other side of our island. We were not in good spirits this morning either. Gorgeous out todayIMG_20220317_153350959_HDR~2.jpg My back is a little sore from taking a fall yesterday. We were finding a different place to beach the boat, and I stepped in a bad spot. IMG_20220317_082640147~2.jpgThe bank gave way, and I took a tumble. We found a drifted up board and fixed a better spotIMG_20220317_082653560~2.jpg. I don't bounce like I used to. A couple doses of Advil and I'm doing well.

Rain expected to move in tomorrow, 80%, so we may bug out tomorrow afternoon. We were going to stay till Saturday but I'm not going to sleep in a leaking cold tent.
Just ate a lunch of bacon and eggs, and the French toast for dessert. Getting ready to head out fishing for awhile.

Wasn't done yet. Caught a couple of fish1647475798208~2.jpg Took picture and returned them quickly. We are in better spirits this afternoon. Moon riseIMG_20220317_200342110~2.jpg a little pink in the west. IMG_20220317_195624406_HDR~2.jpg the moon is so bright you can almost read by itIMG_20220317_201918398~2.jpgIMG_20220317_203534401~2.jpg Brats cooking over the fire.

It's midnight and I'm hitting the sack. Good night

Up before day light. Coffee on, blip blip, blip perk blib, IMG_20220318_071923302~2.jpgeh I think you know how it sounds. The sun peeping under the advancing stormIMG_20220318_071710814~2.jpg A loon popped up behind the boatIMG_20220318_075746576~2.jpg just a little to far for this camera. They can sure dive quickly, quietly and travel a great distance under water. Screenshot_20220318-103209~2.jpg batten down the hatches. Storm is coming.

It was a pretty nice night, after it quit raining. The moon shown thru for awhileIMG_20220317_204222308~2.jpg we have plenty of down cedars, so fire wood was plentifulIMG_20220317_160017577_HDR~2.jpgIMG_20220317_160320603_HDR~2.jpg IMG_20220317_203650163~2.jpg
I laid on my cot and watched a couple of little streams of water ooz down the inside of the rain fly. I had to ask, "Hey,. Have you ever sealed the rain fly?. He replied, " Seal it? What do you mean?" " Really? I'm pretty sure the instructions say to seal the seams". "I didn't know that. Never read instructions, and besides I've had this tent for 8 years". Good grief. No wonder it leaks.

Woke to cloudy skies this morning. Upper 50s with slight breeze. A little fishing then bacon and eggs, and it's time to pack up. IMG_20220318_100739910~2.jpg other then the pressed leaves where the tent was, you'll never know we were ever there.
It was a good trip. Looking forward to paddling Congaree swamp in SC next week. I hope you enjoyed.

Thanks Thomas, we had a good time. Even the leaking tent wasn't to bad.

I laughed when you had the conversation about water proofing....that one hit home with me. Many years ago I learned the lesson about adding waterproofing the hard way!
