Great pictures! I take it you had a good time, and the weather was cooperative?

-----> Hi Roybrew - from your pictures posted it looks like you have been having fun too. I always enjoy your commentary. We seemed to have a balance of sunny days and rainy days which all contributed to our "program". It was a good trip and I look forward to getting out onto the lake this weekend.

"She's my baybee." It is designed to carry a large cargo. It doesn't have a keel so on occasion when the winds are up I have to work extra hard. It works for me. Some of the guys refer to it as the barge. So who gets to carry the extras?

That chair looks like one of those king eco folding chairs. Nice, now we know who spends the big bucks on camping stuff. Ha ha. I bet you got that on sale.

Nice looking setup. Is your Souris River a 15 or 16 foot? Very nice canoe.

----> Gotta tell ya they are great for the back rather than sitting on a log or rock. They can take 300 pounds and fold up into nothing which is great when you are conserving space. [I gots that on sale :Smile2:.] The canoe is 16 feet.

I've always heard that 16 feet is a good length for a solo canoe. Love the pictures and I look forward to hearing about you next trip.

Length gives canoes speed.
I have paddled a lot of tandem canoes solo on overnight trips.
Recently I got an OT Canadienne in kevlar. It is the short one 15'7" so I changed the seats for solo paddling. It is only a 32 inch beam so it seems tender. It will settle down with some camping equipment. It is really fast.
