These rounded or domed tents will provide a protective shield with the use of a double wall. While also acting as a lining support, this protective shield faces the wind and shrugs away any snowfall.

Like this one...or 2. I have several 4 season tents and these are my favorites and they are warmer than light weight 3 season tents. I use a pulk sled if I am solo or if with a team we split the weight.

I guess I have lived a "deprived" tent camping life. Never had the luxury of a tent large enough for a heater, so my tent concerns have always been wind stability, and durability.

It is the combination of a good sleeping bag and decent pad that provided warmth and insulation from the ground., which was rightly pointed out as the biggest source of cold for a horizontal camper.

Easiest cheapest way that I've found is to throw a tarp over the whole tent and tie it down with stakes.

It helps hold the warmer air in the tent thus keeping you less cold. The ground is an enemy when tenting so make sure you have plenty of layers between you and the dirt!
