Default Exercising da Boat

Peg and I decided to run the boat yesterday. We try to run it every time I'm home to keep the motor loose and check things out. We really didn't have time to do much fishing this hitch so we brought along some bait and while running to the lake and back we stopped at a few of our favorite spots and managed to bring home 8 lil crappies. We got a late start and it was very hot so we didn't fish long but had a ball like usual.

The pups look like they had fun too!

What a great outing! The best ones are usually the ones that are not planned. My brother took my son and me out on the ocean one day just for a ride. We had the most fun and although we didn't set out to fish, we caught plenty. Great memories!!

Livin'down In Cajun country we are litterally short minutes away from the water. To be honest most of our local fishing trips are unplanned. Most of our planned trips include da camper and involve a trip somewheres. A while back I was turning over the compost pile and un earthed several big night crawlers. I put them in a flower pot I had handy hollered at Peg, and with in a half hour we were catchin'bream for supper. Das how we roll. :-D

Most of the time you can't plan fishing trips. At least for me, the weather decides it for me!

You're fortunate to have all that good weather. Where we are it's just too cold to get out in the boat. I love the idea of "exercising" the boat. It looks like more than the boat got the exercise.

I am looking at frozen tundra, waiting for a break in the weather so I can negotiate the boat ramp. Otherwise it may mean fishing from the bank.

I just got a fish report yesterday at my neighbor's house on New Year's Eve. Two guys he works with, high steel construction workers braved Pyramid Lake north of Reno in the bad weather last week. They were in blowing snow and cold conditions with ice in the guides of their fly rods fishing with waders.. They managed to land a 16 pound and a 20 pound Lahontan Cutthroat Trout!
