Default Went Catfishing!

We generally saltwater fish most of the time but when coming back to the Marina we come through a nice river. So, the other day we decided to stop and do some catfishing. We got several nice ones and had them for supper.

I have never had a catfish before. Is there a big difference in taste? I bet it was fun! I love to fish anywhere for anything (as long as it is biting). How many did you catch?

Got a couple pounder the other day and had it for dinner last night, and breakfast this morning. I love some fried catfish. The wife makes some really good sauce for it too. Alton Brown had a recipe for catfish soup which is one of the few soups I enjoyed, although I could not eat a whole lot of it.

I love catfish too, especially fried. We make what we call a catfish stew that is really good. We clean the catfish like usual, and then cut it up in chunks and boil it in some water along with lots of onions. When done add some can milk and butter along with salt and pepper to taste. Eat with crackers. Now some like to throw in the heads because it adds more flavor, but I just can not stand to try and eat something that is 'staring' at me!

We like to fish for catfish also. Don't do a whole lot of it but when we get hungry for them we'll go to the river and try to catch some for dinner. That catfish stew recipe sounds good. Just might try that the next time we have some. Thanks

We set a trot line years ago at a local lake and caught the biggest cat fish I have every seen. It fed 8 people and there was some to take home. It was huge.

We used to set trot lines ourselves a long time ago. We knew someone who had a vacation home on a nice lake and they would let us stay there a lot. We always set one out at night then went back the next morning to see how many catfish we had. We really like to eat the small catfish the best.

I love catfishing! Have you ever gone at night? My Uncle and I used to take his truck out and fish late at night or early in the morning.

Catfish are amazing! They put up a hell of a fight. I have caught only one catfish in my life and it was enough to give me the experience of a life time. I remember we fried it later near a campfire, it was so good!

Hi...

Cat fishing. I always wondered how you fished for cats.

Do you use canaries for bait? Do black cats taste the best? Do they put up much of a fight? Do you use dogs to drive them into nets? How long can you keep them alive out of water?

Just wonderin'...!!
