What is your favorite live bait

What is your favorite live bait for largemouth bass? I usually use shiner minnows or small brim when I am fishing for bass around here.

If I go for largemouth bass, I try to get some shiner minnows like you do. I have not gone after any bass at all in a long time though.

A whole nightcrawler on a longshank hook, no weight, no bobber, just let it wiggle for awhile, retrieve and flip back out. With such bait one can expect to catch anything even a Bowfin.
