Thumbs up Grandsons Hunter Education

Took my grandson to the first of three hunter education sessions last evening. This class was limited to 30 people and I was surprised to see that of the 30 people taking the course 12 of them were adults. My grandson actually liked goingto the class and he has been reviewing all of the stuff they went over plus glancing over some of the stuff they will cover tomorrow night. He is looking forward to hunting this fall and I gotta admit I'm more excited about the upcoming season than I have been in quite awhile. I can't wait to get him in the field.

I have been teaching Hunter Safety for several years now, I think it is definately a good idea.

It is very important to develp the good, instinctive habits that prevent accidents when kids are young. I have had some close calls with firearms over the years, but training like hunter safety really helped.

I have been in gun shops recently and at gun shows where people have handed me hand guns muzzle first. It is inexcuable and a dangerous trend.

Nothing disturbs me more than being "muzzle swept".

Nothing better than hunting with kids and grandkids. Every one of mine were with me for their first deer or turkey. Each of those hunts were so full of excitement for me.

I still have to take my course so that I can go out with my husband this year. I went last year, but I didn't carry a gun so I was good. I'm hoping to get my own deer this year though.

Thats great pathfinder. Istill go with the grandkids if I get the chance. After 60 years of trotting a rifle around I still like to listen in and get "refreshed". We have an excellent local instructor so I encourage my grandkids to come here for their lessons just so I can listen in.
