Guns vs Doctors.

Doctors:
(A) The number of doctors in the US Is 700,000
(B) Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 17.14%

Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the US Is 80,000,000 (yes that's 80 million)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, All age groups, is 1,500
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.001875%

So statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. Yes, I said 9,000 times more dangerous!

So remember, guns don't kill people, doctors do.

SCARY FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

I have to agree. About fifteen years ago I read that the average life span of doctors is 56 years. This statistic may have changed in the intervening years but I remember thinking that these short-lived individuals are the ones telling us what to do to stay healthy and live.

That was fifteen years ago...shouldn't their lifespan be way up around 57 years now?

I think I am going to have to pass this one along. I love it! I also think it is pretty interesting that doctors only live such a short period of time compared to others. Maybe it's the stress?!?
