Mtn Lion in Downtown Reno

Yesterday morning around 0615, a 2 year old male mountain lion was found trying to get into Harrah's Club. He couldn't figure out the revolving doors, and was soon chased into an alley behind some trash cans where he was tranqualized and relocated to the Mt Rose Wilderness Area west of town.

This kind of stuff happens after bad droughts like this year. There are irrigation ditches, creeks and the Truckee River corridor which allow the free movement of bears and mtn lions into town. It was a young male that probably left his mom recently and was searching for a new territory.
There will be a few bears out of place before winter hits.

Poor kid, I also have issues with revolving doors. That said I'm glad they just tranq'd him and put him back. On the other hand something needs to be set up to discourage the migration of wildlife into town.

Like what? Mtn lion repellant? I can't think of anything that might work.
