Talking Bigfoot caliber?

If you were considering hunting Bigfoot what rifle/caliber would you desire?

They're not really that "big". I'd think a 7mm with a hollow point or expanding bullet should suffice.

Just make sure you get em with the first shot. I wouldn't want to deal with a wounded bigfoot.

Then there's the morality of killing one in the first place.....

I figured as much, but we have to add this disclaimer as not to irritate others who are opposed to any macho type gun talk. Trust me I know!

As for me, I'd use a revolver in 454 Casull or .44 mag, something with a scope maybe. I'm not an expert on Big Foot, but everything I see about it take place in heavily wooded ares. I think most shots would be at a relatively close distance. But that's just me.

A real man would use a knife!

Since I remain skeptical as to their existence, I wouldn't actually go hunting for a Sasquatch. It would most likely be a fruitless endeavor. However, if I happened to see one and it was moving toward me with menace, I would be obliged to dispatch it and would do so. I would of course be limited to my sidearm, a .45ACP unless I were out hunting at the time. If I were out hunting, the beast, if indeed that is what they are, would succumb to a shotgun or a .308.

I say I am skeptical of their existence but not totally convinced they are mythical. I've met some people in my life I would swear were fathered by one of them.

I wouldn't be hunting one in the first place. But if I ran into one that needed dispatching, I'd use whatever means necessary or available. As to the belief in their existance, I remain "wait and see". Their existance, in my opinion, remains to be proven, but I know too many people who's judgement and honor I trust who have had "unusual happenings" to be totally skeptical. As for the sasquatch hunters on tv, they are are a joke. If you really want to find one, get off the dirt roads or away from the cabins and get out in the wilderness. I know places in the northwest so vast, you could hide New York City and no one would see it except by plane.

Hi...

They don't exist, of course. But suppose they did? And I had to defend myself against it?

If my club were not within immediate reach, my 12 or 10 guage shotgun loaded with 000 or 0000 buck would make short shrift of the attacker...!!

NOTE:

"Pathfinder", who is now posting on this forum, is NOT Pathfinder1, which is me...!!

I wonder how a bigfoot rug would look in front of my fireplace?

I'd use a .338 Winchester Magnum. It's what they use to hunt polar bears.

35mm SLR with 300mm zoom so we could finally clearly see what one really looks like

I would not want to kill one. One would hope for good binoculars, a decent camera and maybe a cam corder.

Finding a new species that has been talked about for Centuries, it would not make sense to kill it.
