Default Carolinas: Linville Gorge

Is anyone planning on being in the Table Rock / Linville Gorge area in the next 2 weeks? Any trail recommendations or must see sights?

Thanks to all of you who gave advice about hammock camping and connecting me with the Gorge Rats and numerous trail recommendations, but I took a spectacular tumble my first night and had to miss the great Fall hiking in the Gorge. I still enjoyed a relaxing few days hanging while nursing my wounds and contemplating the meaning of life. I was disappointed, but grateful to be able to walk away.

Thank you Grandpa, I'm ok. I'm thinking I'd better get back out soon 'cause it shook me up a bit and made me a little scared about wandering around with just the old dog.

Yes, it can be dangerous but that's why we carry the SPOT. I take it this time you made it out without having to push the 911 button?

The big thing is you are okay, the next; did you learn something? Every time I have an "incident" I try to find answers, such as; Can I identify the root cause of the fall? Is there something I can change to help eliminate it happening again? Was my spot tied on where I could reach it if something more serious happened?
