Titanium Chef Backcountry Cook-off #5

This year the event may be held at the NC, TN, GA area. Currently the sites are being checked out for the end of September/beginning of October. Is anyone available to get a team together? The rules stipulate a 7.5 mile hike to the competition site, but I have asked if this is an individual or team event. If we can run a relay we just might be able to beat out the competition and have a lot of fun in the meantime. Any ideas or suggestions?

Plug in the title to this thread for additional info. I'm trying to see if a relay race is within the rules. I'm lousy climbing rocks, however good on flats. Maybe we can get an OBC Team for this event!

I nominate you for captain of the SEC Team! Cgap will have to decide if he's with us or against us! Those TN folks might be hard to beat...just saying!

I know the guy who owns the rights to Titanium cookoff....Backpacker Mag was getting set to do it until TownDawg was notified by a retired Lawyer who backpacks and notified him. Judy Ann....you met Chili Thanksgiving he knows the deal as well as he too is a Lawyer. Town Dawg owns the event.
Eyebp..I didn't know you won the last 3 years??? Town Dawg and Chili never mentioned this...

That lawyer and I do quite a few trips together. That man never ceases to amaze me with his back country cooking. He was always after me to compete in TC.

Between Ed and myself, anyone would eat like a king on a trip with us.

Well Lorax, maybe you should think about heading south end of September/beginning of October and show us how its done!

Fridge, I think I might have heard chili talking about it, but at any rate adding boiling water to my little bag isn't going to work for too many more outings. I'm hoping that they will allow teams, but that has yet to be determined. Will you be in the country aound that time of year? I hope that there is a lot of interest cause it sounds like a great time with all of the different events that they have!

I would love to if I had the time. I've got a recipe for baked chicken pot pie made out of dehydrated goods and freeze dried chicken done dutch oven style with coals on the lid that would get some attention.
