| I think your 80% estimate may be a bit off there Ppine. I didn't catch the debates from Wednesday night, but apparently when the moderator asked the candidates where they stood on birth control the crowd booed and all the candidates skirted an answer.
I am waiting for another candidate to pop out of the wood work because none of these Republicans stand a chance against Obama. They are all too quirky and extreme to grab the votes. I am NOT an Obama supporter BTW.

You will have them inserting their religious values into their laws, practices, policies, etc. George Washington (and Thomas Jefferson too, I think) said when asked, that this country is NOT founded on Christian principles. They wanted a country where people were free to make a choice to worship whoever, however, or not at all. Candidates that proclaim "you should vote for me because Im a religious person" scare me. I don't care if a Muslim gets voted in... People give Islam a lot of crap because there seem to be a lot of Islamic terrorists, but it's not like Christians never killed anyone in the name of God. It's been a while but between the Crusades and the "Inquisition", I would bet a whole lot more people lost their lives over not being Christian.
I'd vote for an Atheist if one came out and admitted it.

If Santorum actually said this and it was not taken out of context, logically he is against sex without conception. This seems a bit absurd but not impossible. It would mean that Santorum is either lying or completely insane. Or perhaps he disagrees with the use of birth control pills to treat endometriosis.
This logic, although seemingly sound, is based on almost no information. It is rather like saying that since 80% of women in the US use contraceptives, they have been alienated by Santorum.

| Alot of this has to do with your President deciding that Church is a good place to pass out condoms and has decreed it so.
Public clinics I have no problem with this but keep your smutt out of my Gods house.

| Hi...
I hope no candidate asks for our votes...using the "fact" that they are of a certain religion to prompt citizens to vote.
Also, why isn't there a "None of the above" place on the ballot?

| Grandpa I actually saw a clip of the debate where he said this on a news show this morning. He did verbatim say that he was against the use of hormonal birth control. The reasons he gave where that it is the reason we have such high birth rates among teens and unwed mothers.
Coz: When did we start handing out condoms in church? Not saying it isn't so I just haven't heard anything about that.

Devout Christians scare me with all their anti abortion crap and wanting to make sure everyone else is Christian too.
But a devout Muslim is just as scary, and if the candidate was using his religion to get into office I'd avoid him too.
Devout Wiccan? Voting for you, just because I want to see the first two squirm over that one.
But a devout atheist? Yes, I'll vote for him. At least I know he won't be pushing an agenda based on some ancient text designed to keep ancient peoples in line. His decisions should be unclouded by dogma.
