The mention of bears reminded me of a news story on TV last week. A bear was spotted in an urban area in somebody's back yard, up a tree. It was very unusual to see a bear there.

They sedated him with a tranquilizer and broke his fall with a piece of canvass or something, and arranged to take him further north where he'd fit in better. I guess you could say he got transferred.

That just reminded me that it's sometimes surprising where you'll see large and potentially dangerous animals.

I live in England and until recently we only heard occasional reports of big cats surviving in the wild, but in the last few years there have been sightings of wallabies living wild and being spotted in gardens. Now there are reports of them breeding in the wild.

Male wallaby escaped from Trevathan Farm, near St Endellion in North Cornwall

Justontime we have sightings of wild wallabies in the east midlands too, apparently they are very hardy and are well known for being able to find each other.

Jason that quote is absolutely right. mosquitoes do so much harm around the world because of their role in spreading disease.

My parents are being driven to distraction by a peacock that has escaped from somewhere and taken up residence on their roof. Not only does it make the most horrible loud call but it marches around on the roof and seems to be wearing diving boots! They would love someone to take it a very long way away!
