| Trials vs BMX So whats the difference between a 20" trial bike from a 20" BMX bike? Can you convert a BMX to a trial bike? Last edited by jblack; 06-26-2009 at 09:24 PM. | ||||||||

| I am assuming you are referring to a trials bike like this one? From talking to my local bike shop (I was wondering what one of these things where when there), the rear end is shorter, gear ratio is lower, the top tube is stronger, and they are about half the weight. I remember him saying some people start off trying to modify a BMX bike, but those that get into it end up buying them. | ||||||||

| I have seen some BMX bikes converted, but with heavy use the frames start to crack. I would not do it. | ||||||||
