Default Canoe price

I have a buddy looking to get rid of a used canoe in good condition. What is a fair price for him to ask for it? Comes with paddles too!

I would browse through craigslist, the classifieds and ebay. See what others are selling similar canoes for and come up with a price that way.

Find out the brand name and size, do a search and get the msr price, and make your decision from that. MSRP's usually get discounted by dealers so 30 % off makes a good starting place.

Haven't bought a new canoe in about 25 years. It was a 15 foot Coleman and I paid just under $180 for it. It was a simply awful canoe, BTW.

I had it about 10 years and sold it for $150 to a guy that I'm surprised is still my friend-he likes it, oddly enough.

With that $150 and $100 more I bought a used 17 foot Old Town Acadia which I'm still using.

I'd think you could get a half-decent canoe for about $200-250, but thats a wild guess.

Canoe price is completely, totally, and thoroughly about the material it is made from. You can't have any idea what market value is without knowing that.

True. You would have to look at the difference between an aluminum and a kevlar (and everything in between) used canoe to understand the values. There is a huge gap.
