Learn to Paddle

I've always admired people, even small children who can take the boats anywhere they want by paddling it. Where and how do you learn to paddle a boat?

Are you talking about canoes and kayaks? If you buy from some shops they have free lessons before you buy as you try their boats out. There are many groups that have outings and willing to help the new people.

I learned by trial and error and my Aunt teaching me. It's best to take out someone who knows what they are doing and then watch them. I learn better by doing things so I jumped right in and learned.

I think paddling is simple and easy to do. I often go rafting and normally the raft guide will teach you some types of paddling and when to use them.

My dad taught me how to paddle. We liked to use a rowboat when we would go fishing. We had a small motor but when we got near our favorite spot we would row.

I've simply had a lot of experienced from young with kayaking and canoing. I really don't remember taking many "lessons" outside of whoever was leading the activity explaining how to use the paddle...once I figured it out, I just went, and I've kept on going.

Paddling is very easy to learn. You just need to do it and you will eventually learn how paddling works. I think cooking and fishing are harder than paddling.
