Default 4 firefighters ambushed, 2 dead

Hi...

According to the Middletown Times Herald-Record, four firefighters were ambushed when responding to an intense pre-dawn house fire this morning (12-24-12) outside Rochester, NY., shooting four and killing two before ending up dead himself, authorities said.

The gunman fired at the firefighters when they arrived shortly 5:30 a.m. at the blaze in Webster, N.Y. The first Webster police officer to arrive exchanged gunfire with the subject, authorities said.

Two wounded fire fighters were in critical condition at a Rochester hospital, authorities said.

The fire started in one home and spread to two others and a car, officials said. Gunfire initially kept firefighters from battling the blazes. Police say four homes were destroyed and four damaged.

But how could this have happened? The guy was a long time felon with a history of mental problems. There are laws against people like him having guns. And in a state where guns are few and extremely hard for honest people to have them. (read maximum sarcasm here)

We just have to elect more idiot politicians to pass more idiot laws to stop this nonsense.

According to everything known about the murderer, he shouldn't have ever been left out of prison in the first place. And now this is what we get.

The community is still dumbfounded by the entire situation. What a way to wake up this AM.

It's not enough that they have to deal with burning buildings, now they have to deal with these kinds of idiots? It's times like this that I wish performing lobotomies on criminals wasn't such a frowned upon practice.

You cannot legislate morality into being. There will always be someone who will not adhere. We could, however, do a much better job of enforcing the laws.

Hi...

It has since been disclosed that the shooter was recently released from prison. He was in for killing his grandmother with a hammer...!! Spent 17-years in prison, so I've read.

Now they're looking for his sister, who he hated (per a neighbor), and who hasn't been seen or heard from in a while.

Who knows why this joker was ever released. Fault of the Court maybe? Who knows.

It's time we all joined together to put a stop to this crap. If you are found guilty of murder then forget the appeals process, forget any deals, forget life in prison, forget thecriminals rights. Lets think about their victims right to live, which they have taken away from their victims. Lets think of the victims family and their right to justice. Lets think of the right of the citizens to never be threatened by these criminals. Murder should be dealt with swiftly. Murderers should be put to death. Had they done this when he murdered his grandma two lives would not be lossed and they would not now wonder where his sister is.

He was released because that's how our justice system works. Most of the prisons are overcrowded as is, so if somebody has served their term and is considered "rehabilitated" then he's back on the streets. The thing is, there's no way a trained psychologist wouldn't have detected warning signs that this guy is missing a few.

Hi...

Capital punishment would have thinned out the prison populations also...!! However, I only believe in it in certain cases...like this one.
