Hi...

Well, two additional ATV crashes here this weekend. One with serious head wounds. No info on the other one.

I get the willies just thinking about these people. Life is so precious, and it can be over with in an instant, especially with the young and inexperienced. What a tragic way to remember what should be a happy outing.

Our EMT's and Police get their biggest workout on the city folk leaving their traffic jams behind, setting the cruise on their new SUV at 80 mph plus, hitting our long lonely highways and after a 100 miles or so....zzzzzzzzzzCRASH.

Another lady died Sunday not far from here, two others air lifted out. The driver slept through it all and is okay.

Hi...

How true. And it happens so frequently here...especially with the summer crowds.

Hi...

Same here. City people comprise most of the mishaps, especially in the summer.

The largest Hamlet in this county has only 6,500 year around residents...many times more in the summer. Their volunteer fire department (they have paid drivers) responds to well over ONE THOUSAND calls each year...!!

Hey, we're out of the City now. Let's have a few beers. Let's rent Jet Skis and see how fast they go. Have another beer. Uh, oh...!!

Ignorance is another thing that does not mix well with alcohol.

I'm wondering what THIS weekend will bring.

Yes my rule was, and still is, within 10 feet of the river. The rule came about because I was walking the edge of the river one day and I slipped and slid down the embankment. I stopped short of the water but It gave me an eye opener. That was many years ago and I haven't ever forgotten it or the possible tragic consequences that played out in my head. It is a rule with any kids I am in charge of and it is a STRONG suggestion to ANY adults I happen to be with.
