A big wolf I was oddly thinking about this the other night when watching a movie with the On Demand stuff (The Wolfman), what would happen if a wolf stumbled upon your camping grounds? I have been lucky to never deal with this, but you can not help to think what if??

I hear wolves howling quite often where I am, but have never really thought of them stumbling upon where I am. I am more concerned when I'm out in Alberta and prime bear country!

I never encounter such a situation, but I would love to have a wolf stumbling upon my camping ground. I wonder if the wolves came though with the campfire going all night.

I have encountered timber wolves a few times, fortunately not a whole pack at once. They are curious animals. All 3 times I can think of, where I can say it was an "encounter", I looked up to see a wolf simply sitting there watching us. I have never had one walk right into camp, but they will sit quietly and observe until you run them off. Kinda eerie to realize a big old timber wolf has been observing you for goodness knows how long. As beautiful as they are, I would sure not want to run into a pack and I won't tolerate the presence of even a single wolf. I just don't trust them lol. I think it is best that they remain afraid of us. For the record, each time I drove them off by simply yelling, waving my arms around and running toward them. Only 1 came back for a second look, and once he was driven off a second time we never saw him again. Oongawa

I am pretty sure that we don't have wolves in my neck of the woods but I have seen coyotes before but never while I was camping.
