Question Curious Cousin

I have a dear relative in Europe who claims they don't have as much gear on the market as we have here in US. I would like to help him by sending an occasional package of stuff but can you tell what is the cheapest way to do that and is there a way to avoid costly customs in his country (should I include the store receipt or declare small value on the package when sending)?

What kind of gear are you talking about? Every outfitter I know of ships internationally and the internet is world wide.

My girl is from England and lives here in the states(20 years),she says that whatever you send it has to be claimed on the customs form but you claim it as a gift to your friend and there will be no fees.

Shipping is expensive as it goes by weight so you would have to check that out,but that should be the only expense.

Usual camping gear. Let's say this: he needs to order from at least 5 sites, which is at least $40 of shipping for each + huge customs. I don't see how that is smart. That is why I want to buy these things locally, wrap them up in one package and ship to him.
