Default Dogs In The Back Of Pick ups

Does this bother anyone else? I hate seeing dogs in the back of someone's pickup truck because if they fall out or are in an accident it is not going to be good.

I am a lifelong dog lover. We have 3 dogs and they are almost like our children. I would not have my dogs riding around in the back of a truck anymore than I would have my child doing that. It can be potentially dangerous and should be against the law.

I have a dog that I look after regularly-not mine but my sisters and I probably have it for one week in every six. When he is with me I have a seat belt for him, with a harness so that he sits safely in the car. I'd never have him in a truck!

I see it a lot. I would never do it. I've had a dog jump out of my arms through an open window once, and now I will not even put my windows down all the way. Thankfully I was going slow, and she was ok.

It's pretty common where I come from and also in the area where I live now. I've never actually seen or heard anything bad come from it, but I guess the potential is there. Personally, I wouldn't do it with my dog, but then again, she can't go anywhere with us because she's a pansy and she gets car sick, lol.

It's always worried me that something would happen to the dog whenever I see dogs in the back of pickup trucks. There is always a safer place like inside with the driver.

I have never let my dogs ride in the back of the truck and I only crack the windows when she rides in the car with me. Seeing them in the back with their big goofy grins always makes me smile but if there was an accident it wouldn't be good.

I think it's dangerous for the dog as well as other drivers on the road. The last thing I would want to see is a dog taking a leap out of the truck in front of me and then trying not to hit it.
