Default expecting trick or treaters??

It's a beautiful day here in Bayou Country temmp in the low 70's not a cloud to be seen and what should be a pretty full moon. I got the fire going and a big ole dish pan full of candy, peg got her spooky looking candle holder and has 3 extra long tapers on it they always melt down and add to the effect with wax drippings. There is no through traffic in the little neighbor hood we live in so lots of folks brin g kids here to avoid traffic and they can run around our very safe neighborhood.

I bought one small bag of candy. Most people are afraid to come up our driveway, but occasionally some brave soul will bring their kid up here.

We've only had one trick or treater in five years. We always buy a bag of candy just in case though. I get pretty sick of eating it in the days afterward.

Well, I expected some trick or treaters but we didn't get a single one this year. I guess I am not overly surprised because we took our kids elsewhere too...not a very friendly neighborhood here.

I don't get trick or treaters at my ranch because my house is a half mile off the road and the gate is locked at the front of the property to keep the horses in. However, last night I took my little brother's kids (5 and 3) out in LaPorte, IN where Halloween is a big deal. Many of the houses are decorated and the people sit out front where long lines for candy assemble. The best one I saw was the LaPorte Police. They had a working model of the Ghostbusters vehicle fashioned from a new white van replete with the ECTO 1 license plate, all four of the ghostbusters in their gear, all the flashing lights and a sound system that played the Ghostbusters theme.

Well for us we had a light turnout maybe 20 kids or so. We are stuck with a dishpan half full of candy. The guys on the boat will apreciate it I am sure. Also there are a couple 12 year old boys in the neighborhood that decided they were too old to trick or treat. Pretty sure they wont complain if ole cappy shares some of our left overs with them

I live on a busy road, so no kids here. We took our own kids to a safer neighborhood to trick or treat and they had a grand time. The orange gibbous moon was stunning last night.

Hi...

Have many trick-or-treaters around, but they don't come here. Can't figure it out...is it the 'long' 50-foot walk from the street to the front porch...or because we don't keep the lights on here...!!

PS...we do have some ruffians...usually teenager...trick-or treaters around here, and I wouldn't feel comfortable with them around my beautiful UTE...!!

I was shocked. We actually had two groups show up this year. Twice as many as we've ever had before.

I recognized them all from meeting them while walking around the neighborhood though.

We did not get that many last year. So this year I went with the wife and the three kids to my mothers house. While there my brother ran out of candy in his neighborhood so we went over there to give him some relief candy. And went trick or treating there. Talk about a packed neighborhood.
