Campclose I am sorry you are having such a rough time lately! I agree with the others that an x-ray would be a good idea. Plus they will give you that awesome butt pillow and probably some pain meds to make you a little more comfortable.

Sometimes not using it (DMSO) is a lot worse. Especially when the nearest doctor is 75 miles away.

Status update - No doctor... I work in a hospital and was told they would only give me pain meds. I can't take those - they make my loopy! My rug burn is almost gone - still quite bruised on other hip and buttocks. Spasms are not as bad - only when I sit for long periods of time. Man! It stinks getting old and clumsy.

Sorry you are in pain, but glad you are okay. My mother broke her tailbone years ago when she was in nurses training. She said it "fixed" itself (straightened out) when she had me. At least I'm good for something!

Campclose, I hit my tailbone once so hard I literally saw stars and couldn't move, the pain was so unbearable. I had gone skating with some college kids I was chaperoning. I was going to show off and flip around to skate backwards. Down I came with my knee underneath me and landed right on the side of my hard skate wheel. I ended up in the emergency room and took awhile to recover.
