| It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

| I'm no Democrat but the entire inaugural speech of John F Kennedy. Some of the famous lines are; (and something current democrats should review)
"...the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God."
"Let the word go forth.....that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans."
"Let every nation know... that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
"The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life."
"Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate."
"Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country"
"For only when our arms are sufficient beyond doubt can we be certain beyond doubt that they will never be employed."
"All this will not be finished in the first 100 days. Nor will it be finished in the first 1,000 days, nor in the life of this Administration, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet. But let us begin."
"...let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own."
Spending time with children is more important than spending money on them. (Don't know who said it but I like it)

| Grandpa;
"I Have not yet begun to fight" when asked to surrender to the HMS Serapis. John Paul Jones. He and his men did fight and eventually the Serapis surrendered.
Ben Franklin gets the credit for the hang together quote.
Hi...
Thanks.

| Hi...
This one is probably not very well known. It was uttered by a five star admiral after Japan surrendered, ending World War II.
The Admiral was asked by a ship's captain what they should do in case not all Japanese ships and aircraft got the word, and continued to attack U.S.ships.
The Admiral replied: "Then shoot them down, but do it in a 'friendly' manner"!

| These really are wonderful, and this is such a great idea, Coz. I happen to have a number of relatives who served in World War I, Korea, World War II and in Vietnam. Most are no longer with us, but this is a grand time to share our memories of them and what they did with our children.
