Default I miss Tenting

For the second Spring trip into the Blue Ridge in a row I've been out-voted and over-ruled on tent camping, instead the women folk, kids and greybeards have opted to rent a cabin. Having to look a the good points, which I must there is one good aspect - We'll be right on a wooded stretch of river with Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, and Red-Eye Rockbass.

Perhaps I'll bring a tent and camp outside.

I say, bring a tent and a few nights sleeping outside. Then everybody can have the vacation they want. However, I think the kids might want to go outside with you and try out the tent at least for a night.

That's what one in our party suggested, but all in all not a bad getaway, the cabin had plenty of room for all. We canoed, fished, hiked, celebrated and feasted like Heathen Chieftains. Aside from a few other paddlers, we had a good stretch of the river to ourselves.

We had a decent outdoor fire pit right on the river and that's where I spent most of my evening time at. After Labor Day we plan to tent camp on the Jackson River.
