Default Ideas please

I hope this is the right place to pose this question. I'm taking vacation mid-November, or should I say stay-cation, and I want to take my mom somewhere and do something with her. She has complained that she wishes "she could go on a vacation." She is blind, so anything really visual, won't do.

The weather has turned here for the worst, so the ocean may not be such a great idea. Cold, windy, blah. I've thought of musicals, etc. But there is nothing really she would like to see until after the new year.

I'm really perplexed, and would love to take her somewhere, anywhere, so she's not at home. It's So difficult, especially when I ask her, "Mom, what would you like to do?" Her response: "Oh, I don't know." LOL Shopping is out, because shopping with my mom is exhausting.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe some sort of wine/food/cheese/etc tasting? Something that could appeal to her smell and taste?

Just trying to brainstorm a bit here...not a subject I've ever considered.

Hi...

I haven't tried to look up any...but I have heard of interpretive libraries, museums, zoos, etc. that take a hands-on approach. Also, horseback riding on trained horses might be another option.

Load her up on the back of a snow machine with you and let er rip. Vroooom vroooom.

My grandkids all have their eyes clamped shut and are hanging on for dear life the first time or two.

Then head down to the lodge where they are burning pine or cedar in the open fireplace. Sight is nice but not required for the sound, smell and warmth.

Good luck and have fun.

Default thank you!

Sorry I was unable to check back in yesterday, very busy at work, however, I appreciate your suggestions so very much! Especially Grandpa's hahaha...

So here's what I decided. We have family that lives in Vegas, her number 1, favorite grandson is there as well, so I have booked us a flight, and hotel, and I'm taking her to Las Vegas to see family! I'm not particularly fond of Vegas, however, my mom is not getting any younger and she would love to see some of the family. We don't gamble, so there's not an issue there, thank goodness because I can't stand the cig. smoke on the gaming floor.

This is going to be fun, fun, fun....now, other than visiting family, what the heck am I going to do with her for 4 days?

Maybe some of the shows? There ought to be something out there worth listening to.

LV isn't my favorite place either, but there is some nice hiking at Red Rocks Canyon, and Valley of Fire State Park. Not too far too Hoover Dam, either. Never got the time to drive up Mt. Charleston, but that should be nice as well.
