I watched this movie a couple of years ago and I cried at the end. Does anyone else like it as much as I do? It also reminded me of the movie, Eight Below which also made me cry for those poor sled dogs left on their own.

Well, I don't cry as much as you do but I loved Into the Wild very much. What was particularly great about it is that movie depicts real events.

I own into the wild. Its one of my favorite movies. It is very sad , but he died living the life he wanted. He made some foolish choices and serious mistakes while in Alaska. There is another book out that you might be able to google( cant remember the name) about Alexander Supertramp. The author retraced his steps and talked to people he met. The one thing people dont know is that he was on anti-depressants. Mentaly he was alittle off. Anyways I believe he was a good person that just wanted the simple life and to be left alone, a gentle and very intelligent person.

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture in the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but nature more.
Lord Byron (1788-1824)

Great movie! I'd like to check out that other book though. There's always more to the story.
