| I still got the five bucks I didn't spend on the lottery. Now I think about what if there had been a third winner....

| Here in the land of gambling there is a saying - "the lottery is a tax on the poor." It is a great way to make money for the state treasury. It is much more lucrative than gambling has ever been.
Nevada has every kind of gaming you can name, but we have no lottery. The Indian Reservations are some of the only places that don't have gambling. It may sound like upside down world, but for us it is normal.

| What I do not understand is people who plan on winning the lottery.
It is fun to play sometimes I guess but to plan ones retirement around it???

| I am not a lottery player. I think it is silly. My dad probably plays about $50 a week in games because he plays the regular lottery game, the daily 3 and daily 4, the mega millions, and whatever other games there are these days.

| They had this red lottery machine in a bowling alley out of town. It was sitting right next to the red pop machine. I went for a soda, got talking to someone and put my dollar in the lottery machine intead of the pop machine. That was two months ago. One of these days, I have to go in and get my dollar winnings back. And that is what I see my friends do when we go to Nevada for the bowling tournaments. "I won $500 last night" 'Oh, how much did you spend to win it?' " just $800." Lucky me, it only cost me a dollar to win that dollar.

Hi...
That's very interesting, not to mention unusual. So many other states have their casinos owned by various Tribes.

Hi...
Why does 'incredibly stupid' come to mind...??
A shrink might think of that as an unfulfilled expectation.

A shrink might think of that as an unfulfilled expectation. | Actually it is known as delusional incompetance. But I like your "incredibly stupid" explanation better. Perhaps you should suggest it to your analyst friends as a clinical definition.
