Yikes! One of the reasons why I leave my cellphone in my bag whenever I have to go and do my "business". Have you tried to have it checked? Like what the previous comment mentioned, it may not be part of the warranty, but you might be able to get it repaired for a small fee and keep it going until you upgrade.

PS. I hope you sanitized it before using it again.
