Default Searching For THE Tree

I have been looking for a good tree for some time now. I wanted one the hubs, kids and I found ourselves but it has been a nightmare getting everyone together this year to do anything. So, I guess I'm going to go to the Christmas tree lot tomorrow and just buy one. I miss simple, I really do.

When my boys were little we used to go to a local tree farm and I would let them find the tree. Before they came back to get me and the tree cutter they had to find one and agree on it together. We always got the one they picked together no matter what it looked like. The one tree I remember best was christened the Christmas bush, but we used it anyway. I miss simple too hummingbird, I really do.

We ended up with one of the fake trees prewired with lights.
Looks exactly like a real tree without the fire hazard.
No mess and lots less fuss.

The origins of Christmas trees come from Pagans, bringing evergreens into the house as a way to ensure that the sun comes back around the winter solstice. Only live trees will do. In the West the king of Xmas trees are the noble fir. In the East, I would say balsam fir is tough to beat.

Oh that stinks! We love to go cut the tree down. We are planning on doing it tomorrow too! I don't like to pick one without the kids. I guess it's a family tradition.

We spent over an hour wandering around the tree farm yesterday but we found a beautiful Balsam fir and chopped it down. It is the perfect size for the room we have. I got it all decorated and it looks gorgeous. I wouldn't want to pick it out by myself though, it would suck the joy of it for me.

We went with a fake tree too but I miss the scent of the greens. We will sometimes go out and just cut some branches from some scrub pine to put in baskets in the house. Makes everything smell great.

I have had years where it just turned into one big headache trying to get a tree, so I know what you mean. We usually get a live tree, but buying an artificial one got brought up again a couple of days ago. I am so over this holiday season.
