Default Tonneau Cover

I recently put a new tonneau cover on the back of my pick-up. I love the way it looks and the fact that it's made the bed a place where I can actually store my tools securely. But best of all, it's greatly improved my gas mileage. I knew it would help, but the amount I'm saving will pay for the cover in 6 months to a year.

I prefer the fabric style covers to the hard fiberglass type. Yes you can lock the hardtop covers but you are always limited to space. I liked being able to roll the fabric up and have the room to haul taller items if need be.

My solution has always been a cab-height canopy. It gets the best mileage, provides room to sleep and haul three dogs, etc. It doesn't look as cool but is very functional.

Are you talking about the fabric canopy? I kind of like those opposed to the camper type shell or cap.

I like the roll ups too. It has been nice to be able to stop somewhere and pick something up without having to worry about the bed cover.

Hi...

I think that they each have their advantages. I've had a cap that was as high as the cab roof, and it worked great for a work vehicle.

I also had a solid tonneau cover on another pickup which worked fine, also. And, it was easier to see behind you. However, when trying to fit a new TV in...still in its shipping carton...that was not easy in the solid one...!!

NOTE:

"Pathfinder", who is now posting on this forum, is NOT Pathfinder1, which is me...!!
