I figured the world wasn't going to come to an end because nothing had started burning in the skies. No giant meteors or asteroids were in sight, or even close to being in sight. I cashed a check for less than what was in my bank account, although I was tempted to write a much bigger one and go spend it on a last-day shopping spree.

I'm still alive and kicking. I guess the date on the calendar means I have to fix that Christmas dinner for all those other people in my family who are alive and kicking, too. At least the Doomsday guys picked a date before Christmas, and we wouldn't have had to do all that work there at the finish line.
