Kudos Coz! Be safe and take some pictures. Hurricane disaster zones have so many more stories than we see on the evening news. People that help out when the first responders are relieved have more heartbreak to deal with than most of us could ever begin to imagine. Bless you and good luck.

Good one man! Have a safe trip and let us know with pictures and stories how it went. I wish I could help but I have so much things to do that it's not even funny.

Stay safe! I think it's wonderful that you are going out to help with disaster relief. That's not an easy thing to do as it’s both emotionally and physically exhausting.

Be careful out there Coz. I hear it's pretty rough so watch out for yourself. It's so heartbreaking to see the state of things there. We have friends up there but I've heard from them and they weren't in the hard hit areas. They said they didn't even lose electricity thank goodness.

Well, we left out 2am Friday morning, drove till 2am Saturday morning, slept till 6am then drove again arriving in New Jersey around 10pm Saturday.
Went to work immediately and finally got to my motel about a hour ago, I am dragging a little.
The call went out and my company answered with 2 local delivery fuel trucks and a local 18 wheeler fuel transport with no sleeper.
Our dinky little trucks are not that great on 1700 mile trips loaded to the lid with fuel through the mountains. I didn't think we would ever get here, 25mph and less up some of them mountains in Tennesee and Virginia. Our 16,000 gallons of off road diesel were a welcome sight though, we are keeping huge emergency generators fueled and running for a major cell phone company as there is still no electricity in many areas.
Right now I am about to get some sleep in Brooklyn, NY, about a hour away from our worksite and the only rooms available in the area.
Gas is being rationed also, odds and evens on the licsense plate with 3 or more hour wait to get to the gas pump.
Anyway, night y'all.
Here is a pic of the WTC being rebuilt as seen from my motel room in Brooklyn.
Coz
