Default Gorges State Park, NC

Overnight backpacking along the gorges state park system and part of the foothills trail. Pretty nice place, devoid of people, with some pretty leaf views still.

I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more… « In the life of Theosus

The pictures are really nice. It looks like you had a great trip. The strange roots on that tree IS impressive and does indeed display the resilience of nature.

The mountains of North Carolina have some of the most beautiful scenery in this country. We've done more driving through them than walking or camping, but I can imagine how you must have enjoyed the vistas.
