Welcome to OBC Jack. I've heard that there are some great areas in Texas to explore. Looking forward to reading about your adventures with the family! We all work too hard and getting out and about away from our jobs is good for the soul IMHO.

Thanks a lot Roxy and Judy

Yeah, there are some nice places in Texas. I used to go camping in East Texas with some of my buddies. There's lots of trees and it's green everywhere.

I went to Fredericksburg on my honeymoon some years ago (we didn't camp ). It was really nice down there, it's hill country and it's beautiful. I would love to do some camping down that way. Then there's West Texas, arid and mountainous in places. I guess we pretty much have a bit of everything in Texas.

But what I'd really like to do is explore the Rocky's. It is really beautiful country there. The places you guys have described in my thread have me drooling to visit there as soon as possible!

Thank you for the hard work you did to post Joseph's Tips for all of us to make a copy of. You should have seen me holding 3 fingers up trying Pathfinder's suggestion for determining the amount of time before sunset and allowing for the difference between a man's finger width and those of a woman's. The folks around me were probably wondering what I was talking about when the determination included a discussion of what might be the average ring size of both sexes and then allowing for age and arthritis....darn if it didn't work! ;-)

You're welcome Judy. I really wanted to do something to make myself useful around here! LOL, I haven't had a chance to try that time telling tip yet, but I did find it very interesting.
