Default Best dessert for camping

What do you think is the best dessert to take when you camp (not s'mores)? The kids are already trying to plan a camping trip and they brought up desserts.

We're big fans of anything chocolate in my family. So we'd probably lean towards brownies. I think they'd be something good to take along because of the fact that they're chewy and wouldn't fall apart as readily as other desserts.

Hi...

Very good. Are you familiar with the "volcano" chocolate cakes and cupcakes with a liquid center?

I have no recipe for those, but they sure are yummy...!!

Oh the volcano cakes sound delicious! I've never had one before. Baking apples sounds pretty good too. Do you sprinkle brown sugar or cinnamon on them when they are done?

I like protein bars with chocolate flavor. They keep me going plus they are delicious. I'm not sure how tasty and good they would be for the kids but for me they are yummy yummy!

Some good info here. After a few days outside I like anything that is hot with fruit and dough or cake mix.

A dark chocolate bar, a snifter of brandy and a good cigar.

Hi...

Usually during, but I suppose after would also be tastey.

dump a couple of cans of pie filling in the bottom of a 12" dutch oven. (I prefer blueberry or cherry but any will work) Take a cake mix and sprinkle the powder over the pie filling. (Yellow or white cake mixes work best in my opinion) Sprinkle a 16 oz soda over the powdered cake mix. (I like the red seven up best)

Cover and bake using 5 or 6 briquettes or an equivalent of hot coals under the DO and 18-20 briquettes on the lid or smother with hot coals. Let it bake for 30 minutes or so and if you can keep the kids away long enough, let it cool a bit. Whipped cream on top is an added bonus.

Some like to sprinkle a little flour over the fruit if the filling is too runny.
