| Pie iron recipes? Do you have a pie iron to use over the campfire? Let’s discuss pie iron recipes, I’m always looking for some new ones. I love making egg – English muffins for breakfast. Here is how I do it: You can use whatever breakfast meat you want. I like ham, but you can use sausage, bacon or ham. You also need English muffins and eggs. The recipe I found called for your eggs scrambled, I like to do sunny side up for this. Shredded cheese makes the muffin very tasty too. Butter the outside of the muffin and put the buttered side in the pie iron (so it’ won’t stick). Then layer your goodies, I always start with the egg, then meat, then cheese. Put the pie iron together and cook it over the campfire. Cook it until the muffin is toasty and the goodies are hot and melted! These are so good. Can’t wait to hear what goodies you make with your pie irons. | ||||||||

| I don't have a pie iron, but after reading your recipe I want to run out and get one! Man, that sounds like a delicious breakfast sandwich and a great way to start the day. | ||||||||

| Do you use the aluminum or cat iron pie irons? Does it make a difference besides weight? I think I am going to get a couple but not sure which to buy. I am looking forward to hearing some more recipes. | ||||||||

| We have one too and my favorite thing to make is pizza sandwiches. They are so yum and warm and gooey. You just use bread , butter it on the outside, place it in the pie iron, then add sauce, cheese and whatever else you like. We do mushrooms and pepperoni. Close the pie iron up and roast over the camp fire. It's a hit with the young ones and me too! | ||||||||

| I don't have one but I've seen other people do things with theirs that look good. One guy I went with one time used left over biscuits split, buttered on both sides with that caramel sauce that you put over ice cream in the middle over a Hershey's kiss. It was really good but it certainly was messy! | ||||||||

| Now that sounds right up my alley, messy but so good! I will have to try that one! We make pies in our pie irons too, they are all made with bread and a fruit filling. You butter the outside of the bread, fill the bread with a pie filling and cook. Not as good as home made pie at home, but good at camp. | ||||||||
