Default Potatoes on the grill

I tossed some potatoes on the grill last night. I cut them and put onions and peppers in the foil and tossed them on the grill. They were sure tasty but not as good as they are when cooked on the campfire. I'm ready to build a campfire!

I do this all the time. Packet potatoes are one of my all time favorite camping foods. Sometimes we even throw a little meat in there and it is always delicious.

Set up an area in your backyard if you have the room, that is what our uncle does. Lucky for him we stop by and always bring a new sack since we come over to borrow his land sometimes.

Potatoes on the grill are is my favorite way to cook potatoes. I love the combination of peppers and onions too. I usually opt for hot peppers in mine.

What kind of meat do you put in your potatoes? I'm not a fan of hot peppers! I like green or orange (sweet) peppers in mine. The kids don't like the peppers.

I like to slice and fry my potatoes over the campfire. I add a little onion and some sliced turnips. Salt, pepper, and garlic.

I love to fry them over the campfire too. I've never had a turnip before though. Will have to try that one. Cooking anything on the campfire is the way to go! I like my corn on the cob from the campfire too!

Spuds! I like grilled Spuds! Spuds with Onions. Oh Boy!

Get a russet that is long and slender, so when its cut, the rounds are the same diameter. Cut it into 1/2" slices. Spray with oil, hit them with Adobo Seasoning. Toss on grill to add grill marks and brown up. Move off to the side, cover and bake on grill with indirect heat for 30 minutes. Crispy on outside and creamy in middle.

Grilled Onion, a spuds best friend.

Get a Sweet Onion. Barely cut bottom off onion so it will sit up straight. Cut onion into quarters, stopping short of cutting all the way through. Wrap in foil leaving the top open, like an aluminum foil flower. add spoon of brown sugar and a splash of olive oil. put on grill. bake till bubbling, about 30 minutes.

Saute mushrooms in a 5" Dutch Oven with a splash of Worcestershire and A1.

Serve with BIG THICK Strip Steak. And Chow.

Enjoy!

Campmaster, that sounds delicious and one I'll have to try soon!

Potatoes are best when baked in the campfire coals or fried on top of the grill in oil. I've never had much luck with trying to roast them, although wrapping them in tinfoil and cooking them might work. I've not tried that.
