Default Better To Wear Or Not

I won't lie, I love wearing camo. I get some awesome sightings of animals that way. I don't always hunt though and I wonder if it's not better for me to get out of camo if I'm not hunting? What do you guys think?

wear it, unless you're exploring an area open to hunters. I'd hate to get shot by some quack who mistook me for (insert random animal here). Most hunters will identify the movement before firing on it... but my uncle was shot by one of those who did not. He lived, but 40 years later and he's still limping.

I used to wear it because I had an abundance of it after I got out of the Army. Now most of it is all gone, but I do have a few items left that I'll wear if I'm camping. I try not to wear it while hiking, 1 because of what was stated in the last post and 2 because if I was to have an accident and be laying somewhere unable to communicate, I don't want to blend in too much.

The two posts before this one cover exactly what I was thinking. Third thought:

Don't let your kids wear camo so that it's easier to keep track of them.

There was a set of hunters here that fired at something moving in the woods, they ended up hitting a 20 year old boy in the arm 20km down the road. It went right through the house. I am scared to wear camo in the woods now.

20km!! That doesn't sound right unless the hunter 203d the round in to the house.

I guess this means you shouldn't camo your house or wear camo in your house.

I don;t wear camo but for different reason than listed here. For the must part almost all pants and shirts that are affordable in Camo are not the materials that I want to wear. I prefer wicking materials and things that dry fast. BDUs that are picked up at Army Surplus are very slow to dry and don't breath all that well. They are other camo options out there I am sure but they tend to be pricey. Looking at places like Bass Pro for example the Under Armour stuff that is in camo tends to be 10 bucks or so more expensive and not worth it to me. Not that I will pay the price or that brand any way. It just seems that all the camo stuff I see is a little bit more expensive than just a solid color and not wroth the additional since I don't hunt Also after having wore it for 4 years kinds of sick of it.

I buy the 65/35 poly/cotton BDUs, and they breath well and dry quickly enough. They're also rip-stop, which is pretty great.

I've got a whole closet full because that's what everyone gets me for EVERY gift. I do like it but then I'm liking what Old Sarge says about blending in too much, I didn't think about that aspect of it. I do think of someone shooting me when I'm out and about but then Dick Cheney doesn't live around here . I guess I'm going to have to go get some durable stuff to wear when I'm just camping or backpacking.
