Default Handwarmers and cold weather

Thank goodness for hunters and hand warmers. I had a supply of these when we stood out for a Christmas parade last week. Man, it was cold. I was a huge hit because I let visiting relatives use my hand warmers.

I love hand warmers especially on really cold mornings when I have to stand outside on bus duty. Seems like my hands and feet are what suffer the most in winter and the hand part has been taken care of. Any ideas on the feet part?

Hi...

Thermacell now has a 'new' type of remote controlled foot-warming shoe insole. Might be quite the invention, although it seems rather pricey.

It needs a remote so you don't have to reach all the way down to your feet? HA HA just kidding.

Thats a "roundabout" stretch for some of us.

They make foot warmers that work the same way as the hand warmers do. They are cut like an insole for your boots. Check at your local Wally world in the outdoors section. They work but not aswell as the hand warmers, because there is less air space under your feet than in a coat pocket.

I don't use them but I have good circulation and am a big fan of GI polypropylene underwear and thinsulate boots and gloves.

I really love both wool gloves and wool socks in the winter. Even if the wool gets a bit damp or wet, it will still keep you warm. Fortunately, I'm not allergic to wool like some folks are.

I love wool gloves as well. My biggest problem with it is for some reason, I tend to be a tad bit clumsy with my hands with them on. I don't know if it's because of the thickness though.

The foot ones tend to worry me sometimes but I am sure they are better designed than they were years ago when I first tried them. Now wool I am all over that to keep warm, even have a pair of nice thigh highs that help during the cold days.
