| I think I'm addicted to knives Just what the title of the thread says. For EDC folders, I've got a Buck, a CRKT, and a Kershaw. For fixed blades I have a Mora and a Kershaw. I only own one Swiss Army knife (Victorinox) only because my other one to my nephew. I own eight different throwing knives in two different sizes.
And I want to buy more. Several more. Buck has a build your own knife thing on their site, and using it is like holding a bag of meth in front of a meth-head. I'm really itching to buy a locking Victorinox, probably a Trailmaster. I've also been itching to buy a bigger fixed blade, even though I tend to use a saw to process wood, so I don't actually need the big knife.
Please tell me I'm not the only knife addict here...

| Hi...My name is Larry and I'm addicted to knives. People ask me why I carry knives, I tell them "you never know when you'll need to make a sandwich", but in all reality I would never use one of my knives to make a sandwich, but I will stab the first hand that tries to grab my sandwich. I like to train with knives, anything from a EDC folder to a Karambit, even a short sword. Knives are a true thing of beauty. What's more sexy than a woman? A woman with a knife...well, maybe a naked woman with a knife! Any how! I like knives and the sound that they make on the stone when being sharpened, the audible click of a liner lock and the aroma of honing oil is my Viagra. Michael...thanks for starting this thread, it's long over due. Knife lovers stand up and be counted don't be ashamed, we were born this way. If you sometimes feel like a Samurai trapped in a man's body, now's the time to come out of the knife case and be heard! We should start a knife pride parade and every year we can gather together and clean and sharpen our knives. I"M NOT ASHAMED!

| Oh shoot, now you got me started. Just when I hike I have a gerber folder in my right pocket,a fix bladed gerber on my left hip,a gerber multi tool in my pack, and a cheapo walmart knife on my shoulder strap. Then I keep one fix bladed knife in the door of each of my vehicals,a multi tool also in each. Thats just the ones in constant use. Then in my house, dang I cant even begin to remember them all. Lets see I got a matching pair of pocket knifes, one for left had one for right. My old bayonet, my marine corps k bar, several folders, several mutli tools, one knife with a 12 and half inch blade, another large survival knife,um what else....gil hibben throwing knifes, boot knifes...one of those pocket knifes that take a razor blade. I am sure I am forgeting some. But yes I love knifes. Cheap, name brand,no name I dont care. These are my knifes I can remeber, I have even given some away. But I still want more.

| You're a freak and the only knife addict here. I would never waste money buy purchasing frivolous knives. I ONLY have a Leatherman Skeletool, a Buck folder, Cold Steel SRK fixed blade, and Nepalese khukuri, and a hand-made skinning knife. I'm probably not even going to buy more than one or two more... this year.

| No addiction here, just tools to be used, (except for grandpa's old "Western" hunting knife and my dad's old schrade pocket knife. http://www.outdoorbasecamp.com/forum...-download-020/

| I wouldn't say I'm addicted but I have so many knives I'd have to go count them to be certain of the number. But, I only carry three of them at all times. I don't fly on commercial aircraft anymore because I can't carry them onboard. When I'm a little stressed, I sharpen knives. It has a soothing affect for me. There is nothing quite like a good piece of cold steel but I just finished making a bone knife. I have made a number of steel knives and reground others that didn't suit my particular purpose.
But addiction is a pretty strong word. I just have a bad habit.

Both my rides have a couple of knifes,I carry one on a daily basis.I needed my k-bar and bayonette when I was in the Marines. I have found a few knifes that people have lost, people have given me knifes as gifts. Some I bought when I was a kid. So over the year I have spent liittle money on knifes. My gerber pocket knife I bought 8 years ago,my gerber fix bladed knife about 5-6 years ago. My knifes for the marines 7 years ago. and so on.

Would have many more but a bunch got stolen while I was in the Army. Like Newanderthal I have a select group I specifically purchased and have an intended use for. But like Freedommachine I too have several I purchased or acquired during my military duty. I passed my K-bar on to my son, I have my fathers knife from WWII as well as my Uncles from the same war. An old friend who was a Viet Nam vet, passed his knife on to me prior to my leaving for military service. Before you know it you end up with quite a collection of really great functional knives, not a bunch of Frost cutlery fantasy blades out of some movie. Being "addicted" I think is just being comical for the sake of this thread. I think it's more of a deep seated interest in knives as a tool or respected as a weapon!
