Default Knife Throwing?

As a kid I did this all day long. We used to have a big log for throwing knives in the yard and I practiced all the time. As a result now I can hit an object almost always in a range of 3-4 yards.

I have tried and tried and never could for some reason.

Messed around as a kid throwing knives but soon learned they belong in your hand. I can't think of a reason to throw a knife.

I'm with sarge, for me knives belong in hand but I have a tomahawk that is very fun to throw. Its and old one but easy to get the concept and it will stick hard every time and quite accurately too.

I do the same thing ghostdog. I love to practice with the tomahawk but have never had any luck with a knife. They will sometimes have tomahawk throwing contests at the local sportsman club. We don't hit much, but then we can't hit much anyway with the amount of liquor at the club.

I always wanted to try out a tomahawk, I know there are some combative training videos out there but never perused it.

I remember throwing a knife at a dartboard as a kid one time and it went into the wall instead. I couldn't have done that if I wanted to, but that's what happened. I got in a lot of trouble for that and have never tried throwing a knife again.

Hi...

I've tried a single bit axe, a nice tomahawk I made, and knives. It was fun while it lasted, but, evidently, progress wasn't my most important product.

So I'll repeat..they belong in the hand.

We use to do this as kids too. Not any more. But would be one of those cool tricks to know how to do. I agree with others on why you would ever NEED to do this, but would just be fun to know how to.

Ditto. My uncle was in the Merchant Marine and won a lot of money throwing knives. It runs in the family.
