Don't use a tent much anymore. However when I did it was a small backpacking tent which I always stuffed. That being said was never convinced that it really mattered.

Which method do you use for your tarp?

I'm just curious as to how people do it and why. I've always folded and rolled but I'm also open to the pros of stuffing if the reasons seem valid. SIL uses the stuff method but it always seems like his pack is twice as big as mine.

Tarp has a stuff sack stitched onto as a pocket so it gets stuffed. No other option really. It was stuff from the manufacturer though.

That sure sounds like a valid reason for stuffing your tarp.

For car camping, fold and roll.

For backpacking, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, stuff.
