Default Are Airstreams Worth The Cost?

I know that Airstreams are pretty much considered top of the line. But do you think they're worth the cost in terms of their durability? I'd like to be able to live on the road and hike wherever I want. It's still a few years away, but I'm looking at Airstreams.

I would so love an Airstream recreation vehicle, especially a vintage one. I have such great memories of seeing them at campgrounds throughout the eastern part of the United States when I was growing up.

Airstreams definitely have some allure. I have looked at a lot of them. The smaller ovintage ones are worth the most as strange as that sounds. Older ones that original have funky beds, and some unusual upholstery. Redone ones can cost a lot. They are easy to tow and great to look at. The curved interior presents some problems in utilizing the space effeciently. I would not buy any trailer new, especially an Airstream, but the right used one would be of interest. Good luck in your search. A national Craigslist search will get you started.
