The entire inside of the van will be modular. Which means, we'll be able to remove the bed and kitchenette when we want to haul dirtbikes on the inside of the van.

The Sprinter also has a decent amount of ground clearance and will be able to go places that an RV can't. And the US approved the 4wheel drive system for the Sprinters in the US starting in 2012 (or maybe 2014?), so there is that option further down the road.

hmmm. I figured that there was something special about the Sprinter that wasn't readily apparent!

Your van looks great. It is fantastic that you guys are already making so much progress with it. When you get the inside worked on share some pics!

Thanks Sailorman! I suspect things will begin stalling out a little bit in about a month as funds deplete. lol

But there will definitely be pics as we go.

I've always looked at those vans and thought "What a great little efficient camper they would make!"

I would think you could get everything you need to make it very comfortable with some help from a custom van/RV place and do some of it yourself.

Nice project!

I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but Ed started a van conversion build thread on another forum.

We started it in earnest a couple of weekends ago and then really hit it hard this past weekend. It may not look like we did a lot, but trust me, we've got nearly 20 hours into the van already.

So, until Ed discovers something else he wants, I think the cockpit is finished.

He goes by Geek and I by Tweetie on that forum.
