Default Buying a camper

Would you buy a camper that was already in a campground? We are thinking of buying a camper that is at a local campground. We would have to pay the owner for the camper and then pay the seasonal fee each year. Would you consider doing this?

It depends 100% on the camp ground and how you like it. I know guys who have shelled out big$ for a fallin down shack just for the spot.

I agree with Cappy. If you like the campground and if you are sure that you will use it then as lonmg as you think the price is right, go ahead and buy it. If you have any doubts about the price, or the campground, or if you are not sure that you will use it enough to justify the cost then do not buy it. Depending on where it is you might be stuck with iot if you change your mind later.

Depends on you and your family and if that is what you want to do.
We like to 5th wheel around different places and store the trailer in the barn out of the weather.
A dedicated camp spot would get old with us but others would really enjoy it.

I agree with Coz. I have never wanted to go to the same spot all the time. That is one of the great advantages of RVs is that they are mobile. It is best to store them at home so you don't have to pay fees and can keep an eye on them. Is your camper mobile? If not can you make it moblile? Try it and see if you like it. RVs get bought and sold all the the time. There is no perfect Rv so don't try to look for it.

If the ground is good and the price is right yea I could consider it. My sister did something similar but she got antsy and bought it before seeing it, thankfully she has that type of money to waste. I however do not.

It's not for me I'm da guy with the lil ultra lite camper that goes anywhere. There are folks down here that call themselves campers who are actually cottagers. For them going to "da Camp" is a cottage located at a prime spot. Our technique is to drag our lil camper and park in the yard of these cottagers if we want to or just hit the road.

There is a camp ground here that people are actually dying to get into(they have a waiting list) It's kinda more country club than camp ground. Amazing fishing, hunting, swamp touring, organized activitities etc. I've been there twice as a 'guest' had a ball but that aint our style either. I just figured that someone who goes by "campclose"might be into that sorta thing. Peg and I bought the camper for the variety. The cross the street neighbotrs just bought a cottage in probally the best fishing spot on the Gulf coast. I was thrilled for them cause now Peg and I have another yard to park in. :-p

Funny you should say that. I have a sister who owns two campers on permanent spots in two different campgrounds in Delaware. I asked her why she bought the second one and she said she loves Delaware but she was getting bored with the one campground so when she saw the second one she checked it out and the price was right. I can't afford one, but it is nice knowing that I now have two campgrounds to choose from when I want to get away for a few days.

Cappy,
I like your post because it describes the way people recreate in LA. I would have a boat if I lived there.
I wish you could come out here and experience "land, lots of land with starry skies above." Public land are two magic words for outdoor enthusiasts.

I do really like this campground. It is the one we usually book when we camp. I could take a tent if we chose to go elsewhere. I like the thought of having a permanent place to go whenever I wanted to.
