| Coz got a new truck!! Look what I stumbled across on the way home from work yesterday.
Bought a new truck to pull a teardrop trailer I plan on building one day.
63 F100, 240 6-cylinder and 3 speed on the tree with overdrive!!
Needs some attention but nothing very serious.
Brakes aint right, generator is mounted out of line, gonna sent Mr. Berry the original AM radio and see if he can make it work, overdrive won't go into gear but I think the cable is binding up, hood latch is bound up and several more little projects need fixin'.
Paint is a beautiful maroon/burgandy color, not original but pretty none the same with 0 (zero!!) rust anywhere.
Reached in the glove box of the Bronco and paid the man cash on the spot.
I am happy, happy, happy even though wife almost made me sleep in it last night.
Enjoy the eye candy!!

| Hi...
Congratulations.
Looks sharp. You've certainly got your work cut out for you. I've only seen one other Ford 100 (I think), and that was in the 70s.
PS...you carry cash in your glove box?

| Coz,
Congrats. She is a beauty. The only thing I don't like about old trucks is that they drive like old trucks.
edit- The Warn company has made after-market ODs for years for vehicles like that and they make quite a difference.

| Gorgeous! Overdrive is pretty rare on that era truck, too. I learned to drive on a 55 Ford pickup, with a 292 in it. Great truck, wish I still had it.
You got a real beauty there!

| Pathfinder1,
Yeah, I keep some cash with me most of the time just for such emergencies.
ppine,
Yup, steers like a tractor!
WV,
I gave my Daddy a call this morning and found out from him the "3-on-the-tree" with electric overdrive is quite a rare find. The tranny is supposed to be worth more than the value of the rest of the truck.
Got a good start this evening and ran into a somewhat major disfunction right off just changing the oil.
Cant get the oil filter off, I think it is welded on or some idiot used an impact to get it on!!
"Expert" reinforcements will be here tomorrow so that will be thatI hope.
Gimme a couple of weekends and she will be zipping up and down the road like the pretty lady she is!

| The only overdrive I rember in a truck like that, a buddy had his truck kinds hot rodded and he had an overdrive that was ingaged with a handle sticking up from the floor boards. You would pop the clutch and lift up on the handle to git it into overdrive. The OD allowed him to run bigger rear end for fast starts and still have some top end after he quickly ran through the three on the tree.
