| I've never camped in Pigeon Forge. I have camped in the National Park a few times though. The National Park campgrounds are pretty nice. Generally, no showers though. So you either need an RV with them, or not care to bath out of a sink.
We stayed in a hotel across the river from a campground in Pigeon Forge once though. I think it was called Twin Mountain RV Park. There is another campground nearby to it Foothills I believe, it too is an RV Park.
We went over and looked around at the Twin Mountain Park. I liked it. The spaces were a little close together, but not terrible cramped. You can get spots near the river. In the warmer months you can rent tubes and ride them on the river in that section, but this time of year I imagine it's a little too cold for that.
These campgrounds are on the southern end of town, just before you exit Pigeon Forge.
