Default Pros And Cons Of Getting A New 5th Wheel

After going to the RV show last weekend, my wife and I have been discussing the pros and cons of getting a new fifth wheel. We love the fact that we have a toy hauler with all the extras that these have, so we're not sure if we'd want to give this up. But there is so much more living space if you don't have a garage. We'd probably keep ours forever if it had a slide-out in the "living room". It gets kind of cramped in the evenings if we stay inside. Anyway, it's fun to dream even if we keep what we have.

I wouldn't buy a new anything especially in this economy. There are great deals everywhere on used rigs. Since there is no perfect RV, changing rigs is something people do often. In order to avoid all that depreciation, don't buy anything new.

People that travel for more than 10 days or 2 weeks at a time, love 5th wheels and motor homes. For shorter trips, anything will work. Why camp in a garage, when you can camp in a portable house? If you must bring extra engines, put them on a small trailer, or mount them on the rear bumper.

Here's an article that might help you decide: What type of RV is right for you? - CampingRoadTrip.com

It's got pretty much all the different advantages and disadvantages of the different kinds of RVs, too so just in case you decide that the 5th Wheel is not your best option, but want to still change your toy hauler.
